An interesting
report on how cell phones are evolving. If a cell phone can be a 6 MP camera, is Word going to be far behind? All you need is an external screen and keyboard. Wait, isn't that a Mac Mini? How soon before you get a cell phone running Mac OS X? Before 2010, I bet!
I was hoping that the
OQO would be a good platform to work on (despite it running XP), but early
reviews pan it. Too bad... in any case, I think I prefer the Nokia 9500.
As usual, a very perceptive view on this at the
Emergic blog.
I am more and more convinced that
phones like these are the future of mobile devices. If all you want to carry with you is a single screen, this has got to be it. Now, all you need is a local disk, a way to attach a keyboard and screen to the docking cradle, and a way to leverage both WiFI and CDMA for wireless communication, and you have the perfect tetherless computing platform.
