More on the Intel Ruggedized PC. The bicycle charging is cool...
Intel joins AMD (a year late!) with a cost-reduced PC. It appears to dissipate 100W with an 'innovative' car-battery power supply. This is about 10 times too much power (a Soekris box dissipates 7W) and the use of car batteries has been known at least 10 years. Where's the beef?
Another thinker in my camp :)
This isn't really relevant, but an interesting pair of videos on the changing US perception of India. Guru Friedman is there in person, too, to share his wisdom. Having been recently in India, I agree with his characterization of the sheer energy in India today.
Seems to be another version of the 'palmtop' (like OQO), but it wouuld be interesting to see what Intel is up to. These types of devices have not been successes so far, for a variety of reasons. Speaking for myself, I would like *all* my data, but also the ability to use a larger screen, if available, and to write on the display. And it has to run Mac OS X :-)
