Revision as of 13:20, 14 August 2020

by Leela Keshav, 2012

I am the Robert Sansom Professor of Computer Science in the Department of Computer Science and Technology at the University of Cambridge. I am a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, ACM, and IEEE, as well as of Fitzwilliam College. From 2003 to 2019 I was at the Cheriton School of Computer Science in the University of Waterloo.

Although I started out as a researcher in computer networking, since 2010 my focus has been on reducing the carbon footprint of energy generation, transportation, and buildings. For the past couple of years, I also worked on improving the performance of Hyperledger Fabric so that it can be used as the foundation for highly-scalable energy systems, such as for transactive energy and renewable energy certificates.

I have recently turned my attention to the carbon sequestration and biodiversity potential of forests, looking at both conservation and restoration. At Cambridge, I look forward to working with collaborators and students who are interested in topics that lie broadly at the intersection of computer science and sustainability.

Pronunciation: Srinivasan Keshav (Keshav is my first name, though syntactically last).

Current work: Here is a more detailed list of what I am currently working on.
