The goal of the Solace project is to create a global suite of location-specific [https://blog.metoffice.gov.uk/2022/11/17/how-can-we-respond-to-the-dangers-of-extreme-heat-in-uk-cities/ solutions] that encompass both technical and non-technical aspects. Our vision is to crowd-source solutions using challenge-style competitions run around the world. Our first step is to create a [https://propelnonprofits.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/social_enterprise_business_plan_Propel.pdf template] for such a competition and pilot it in Cambridge, then use this to refine the template, share it openly, so that similar competitions can be run elsewhere. Learnings from competitions run worldwide will be shared at a conference and the best solutions will be prototyped, then scaled up, in collaboration with local and regional governments.
